Dr. Roycroft’s published research is focused on the public utility, telecommunications and information technology sectors, especially with regard to the relationship between market forces, public policy and regulation. Dr. Roycroft’s research has addressed a wide range of issues including: broadband adoption, the impact of dynamic pricing on low-income consumers, the limits of competition in telecommunications markets, the impact of alternative regulation on telephone company quality of service, and Internet access in developing nations.

Dr. Roycroft is a Professor in Ohio University’s J. Warren McClure School of Information and Telecommunications Systems, where he teaches graduate and undergraduate classes on policy and regulation, business strategy, privacy, and information and telecommunications technology.
